Netpoint will move closer to defeating spam!

Beginning 14.06.2010 there will be a limit of 12 outgoing e-mails per minute in the PRO package. The change will help combat against ever growing amount of spam. The limit will apply to the whole user account.

There is no such limit in our Business packets.

The new limit wont affect the everyday e-mail user, as even the most eager user wont be able to write and send 12 e-mails in 1 minute.

The PRO package is meant for private individuals, who only use Webmail or an e-mail application to send e-mail. Private individuals have no need to send bulk e-mail. Thus far this option has only been used by computers and scripts infected with viruses to send out massive amounts of spam.

For example, if an e-mail has a total of 20 recipients in the To, Cc and Bcc fields, it will count as 20 e-mails.

Users who want to send e-mail to over 12 people at once, need to send their e-mail out in batches of 12 recipients every few minutes.

If the limit is reached, a notice will be sent to the accounts contact e-mail. Also the sender of the e-mail will get a error report sent back with every e-mail going over the limit.

The limit only applies to e-mails sent out from Netpoint's servers. There is no such limit to incoming e-mail.
